One of the greatest metal bands of all time Pantera chose Sofia as a destination for the start of their European tour.
Their concert in Bulgaria is at Arena Sofia on May 26, Fest Team reports.
The lead singer of the quartet is Philip Anselmo, guitarist is Dymbeg Darrell, his brother Vinnie Paul is on drums and bassist is Rex Brown. Pantera have numerous gold and platinum albums, sold out tours, live performances and four Grammy nominations.
To this day, their metal masterpieces are cornerstones of heavy music – Cowboys From Hell, Vulgar Display Of Power and Far Beyond Driven, which went to #1 on Billboard, the Fest Team points out.
Pantera was formed in 1981. Texas. The band’s most famous lineup consists of the Abbott brothers (drummer Vinnie Paul and guitarist Dimebag Darrell), along with Brown and Anselmo, who joined in 1982 and 1986, respectively.
The band popularized the groove metal subgenre and, along with bands such as Testament, Sepultura and Machine Head, were part of the second wave of the thrash metal scene from the late 1980s to the early and mid-1990s.
The four from Texas continue to inspire many musicians around the world while gaining millions of devoted fans worldwide, including the Bulgarian public.
